Health and safety policy

Staff Plus Australia (SPA) is committed to a work ethic that ensures the safety and health of all employees, contractors, visitors, customers and the public.

SPA is fully committed to the beliefs that:

  • Safety is our number one priority

  • All incidents are preventable on and off the job

  • Accountability for providing a safe workplace rests with each individual

  • Everyone has a responsibility to identify and manage hazards associated with their workplace

  • Legal obligations and industry benchmarks are our minimum standard for meeting health and safety requirements

  • Individuals will be trained and equipped to have the skills and resources to develop an incident free workplace using risk management.

SPA management and supervision are responsible for maintaining the following objectives:

  • Strengthen the implementation of the health and safety system through ongoing communication of company procedures and safety issues to employees

  • The continuous improvement of health and safety systems and procedures

  • To consult and involve employees in the safety improvement process

  • Implement health and safety auditing at all our work locations

  • Benchmark the performance of our business and customer objectives as part of formal review by management.

All employees, at all levels shall take every reasonable care to protect their health and safety at work and the health and safety of others.  This includes:

  • Working safely and keep the workplace safe

  • Ensuring that you do not endanger other people by your actions or lack of action’

  • Ensure that you use health and safety equipment correctly

  • Obey any reasonable instructions issued to protect health and safety including information received during training.

  • Ensure that you are not influenced by the consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs and hence endanger your own or anyone else’s health and safety.

  • Comply with company health and safety procedures.

Our safety systems and procedures are integrated within our Management System so that Health and Safety Management, along with all other business activities, is controlled at all stages.

Our safety systems and procedures comply with the requirements of AS/NZA 4801:2001
